Catch chances are per cast without bait. You must reel in successfully to receive the catch.
A hooked monster can bite instead (5%). A water boss can bite (0.1%) when one is available on the map; otherwise that roll gives the fallback fish.
Fishing spots rest after 5 catches, then return after 5 minutes.
Bait is optional. Its bonuses change relative catch weights; all outcomes are then normalized together.
