The Wiki is up to date, now with weapons in 3D

The Wiki at ro2remake.com/wiki now shows everything from today's update.

Weapons in 3D

  • Every weapon can now be viewed in 3D, just like armour.
  • Turn it, zoom in, and look from the front, the side or from above.
  • Swordsticks show the blade and its sheath side by side.

Weapon powers

  • Every weapon page lists its powers: its element, extra stats, chances to blind, poison or curse, extra damage against some monster races, and the spells it can cast while you fight.
  • Each weapon page also shows where to get it, for example which monster drops it or which Blacksmithing recipe makes it.

Professions

  • Alchemy and Skinning have their own pages: where to learn them, how to rank up and every recipe.
  • The Skinning page shows which animals you can skin at which skill.
  • Grand Master recipes are listed for every profession.
  • The Fishing page shows fish sizes.

Monsters and NPCs

  • The Golden Thief Bug page explains how the fight works, phase by phase.
  • Wilhelmina, the Alchemist Master, and the Skinner Master are listed with every town where you find them.

Items

  • Item pages show the new shop prices.

Alchemy, Skinning, 121 new weapons and the Golden Thief Bug

A big update: two new professions, Grand Master rank, 121 new weapons with their own powers, a real boss fight for the Golden Thief Bug, fish sizes and many fixes. A client update for Windows, Mac and Android plus a big server update.

Early alpha

Professions, the new weapons and the boss fight are new and in early alpha. Numbers, recipes and spots can still change while we tune them. Please tell us what you find with Report a bug in the Esc menu.

Alchemy

  • A new profession: brew potions at the Alchemy cauldron.
  • Learn it from Wilhelmina, the Alchemist Master, in Hodemimes, Prontera, Cognito Harbor, Alfheim and the Forest of Echoes. She also sells Empty Bottles.
  • Every potion needs herbs and an Empty Bottle. Alchemy makes buff potions, regeneration and cures, and also the Red, Orange, Yellow and White healing potions.
  • Refine Anima: turn 3 Anima into 1 better Anima at skill 150 and 225. This helps every profession.
  • A brew can fail, like other crafts.
  • Potions no longer sell to shops: they are worth 0 Zeny there.

Skinning

  • A new gathering profession: skin beasts after you defeat them.
  • Learn it from the Skinner Master in Hodemimes, Prontera, Cognito Harbor, Alfheim and the Forest of Echoes.
  • A beast you can skin shows a small knife glint after its loot is gone. Click it to skin.
  • Start with the White Sheep and Potemkin south-east of Prontera. Higher skill opens more animals.
  • Skins and hides are the leather for the Tailor.

Grand Master

  • Every profession except Skinning now goes up to rank 5, Grand Master, with new recipes at the top.
  • Profession windows can now hold many more recipes, with pages to flip through.

121 new weapons

  • New weapons for every job: daggers for Thieves and Novices, swords for Swordmen, rods and staffs for Enchanters, rifles for Recruits.
  • Each one has its own look and icon.
  • 23 drop from monsters, 10 drop from Putangka, the King of Poroporo, and 88 can be crafted with Blacksmithing.
  • Weapons now carry their own powers: an element such as Holy, Dark, Poison or Ghost, extra stats, a chance to blind, poison or curse, more damage against some monster races, and more.
  • Some weapons cast spells while you fight: Storm Gust, Meteor Storm, Lord of Vermilion, Jupitel Thunder, Earth Spike and others.
  • The Zeny Knife puts a little Zeny straight into your purse when you defeat a monster.
  • The item text of every weapon lists its powers.

New armour looks

  • 56 new recipes for the Tailor and the Blacksmith with armour looks you could not get before: shoes, trousers, skirts, robes and gloves.
  • 30 new items, among them the Pumpkin Head, Sunglasses, the Clown Face Mask, the Furry Hood and a long white robe.
  • Crafted items come out in a random version, like every craft.

Golden Thief Bug

  • The Golden Thief Bug in the Prontera Culvert is now a real boss fight in three phases.
  • First it guards its pit: four Pit Guards wake up when you attack. Watch for Gold Rush (a red circle on the ground), a gold shockwave when its target gets healed, and its golden shell against ranged hits.
  • Below 60% health, Thief Bugs crawl out to help it, and its bites rob you for a short time.
  • Below 30% health, it burrows away for a moment and comes back in a golden fury.
  • It is made for a party of about level 25. It returns 30 minutes after it is defeated.
  • Red warning circles now also show when you stand in water.

Fishing

  • Every fish now has a size. The Fisher Master keeps a board with the biggest catches.
  • Weekly fishing records with prizes, and new fishing achievements.
  • When the fishing game starts, it now gets your keys right away: Space no longer makes you jump.
  • No more "That action is not available here" after a catch.

Prices

  • Gear sells to shops for 10 times less than before.
  • Crafted gear sells for at most 50,000 Zeny.

World and monsters

  • Monsters that cast from a distance no longer run away when you come close. They hold their spot.
  • Monsters no longer stand or wander inside warp areas, for example at the Cave of Emir entrance.
  • More sheep and Potemkin south-east of Prontera, and more beetles in Blue Echo.
  • Recoba now casts its water spell.
  • Sweet Potato and Fruit Slice from the shops now work instantly.
  • The Prontera stairs are easier to walk up.
  • New gathering spots for beginners near Prontera, Alfheim, Cognito Harbor and the Forest of Echoes.

Fixes

  • Yawoong frees players who were stuck.
  • Herbs have a new look, with a light column that shows their rank.
  • The menu button no longer shows a mail dot: mail is read at the mailbox.

Android and Mac

  • Android: version 1.2.27. The old app asks you to update before you play.
  • Mac: the new version downloads through the launcher.

Start the launcher to get the update.

Professions are on the Wiki

Everything about professions is now on the Wiki: where to learn them, where every herb, ore and fishing spot is on the map, what you can catch, and every recipe with its ingredients.

Professions on the Wiki

Also new

  • Item pages now show where a profession item comes from: gathered, caught or made, and what it is used in.

Professions are in early alpha, so numbers and spots can still change. Found a mistake? Use Report a mistake on the Wiki page, or Report a bug in the game.

Professions, achievements and fully random gear

Our biggest update so far: seven professions, achievements with titles, the first card powers, fully random gear and many fixes. A client update for Windows, Mac and Android plus a big server update.

Early alpha

Professions are brand new and in early alpha. Expect rough edges: recipes, numbers, gathering spots and windows will change while we tune them, and some things may not work as they should yet. Please tell us what you find with Report a bug in the Esc menu. Your reports decide what we fix first.

Professions

  • Seven professions: Herbalism, Mining (with Smelting), Fishing, Cooking, Blacksmithing, Tailoring and Goldsmithing.
  • Learn them from the profession masters in Hodemimes, Prontera, Cognito Town, Alfheim and the Forest of Echoes. Press B to open your professions window.
  • Herbs and ore grow in the fields around the towns. Walk up to one and click it to gather. Herbs need a Sickle, ore needs a Pickaxe.
  • Fishing: find a fishing spot at the water, pick a bait and cast your line. When a fish bites, hold the button to keep it inside the bar. Rare fish and higher level spots fight harder. Walk away while reeling and the fish gets away.
  • Cooking: cook at campfires and stoves. Food gives you a boost.
  • Blacksmithing: forge weapons. Add an element such as Fire or Holy for some extra Anima. Every forged item gets a quality rank.
  • Tailoring and Goldsmithing: make armour and accessories. Crafted armour can only be worn by the jobs it is made for.
  • Recipe scrolls drop from monsters, and your skill rises as you work.
  • Changed your mind? A master can make you unlearn a profession for 1,000 Zeny.

Achievements

  • 80 achievements to unlock: hunting, quests, levels and more. Press Y to open the window.
  • A banner and a sound show up each time you unlock one.
  • Some achievements give a title you can wear.

Cards and gear

  • The first card powers: several cards now add effects such as Freeze, Bleeding or Poison.
  • Random gear is now fully random. HIT, FLEE, DEF and MDEF join the random lines, and any stat can roll on any piece, so gloves can roll AGI too.
  • 307 stat items now carry the name of the stat they really give.

Fixes

  • Monsters that attack from range and cannot be reached now walk back home and heal.
  • You can no longer mount a Peco Peco in deep water.
  • Two quests now hand out their items correctly.
  • Grenade Shot and Tearing Wound work at lower ranks.
  • Invasion medals: reaching the points is enough, even when you arrive late.
  • Mac: the game no longer closes when you enter the boat zone.
  • New stat tooltips, and Professions and Achievements are in the Esc menu.

Start the launcher to get the update. On Android, install app 1.2.26 when you are asked.

Patch3 November 2026

Smoother targeting, a cleaner tooltip and invasion fixes

A client update for Windows, Mac and Android, plus invasion and quest fixes on the server.

New

  • A cleaner element tooltip on your target: coloured element chips for what it is weak to, what it resists and what its attacks are strong against.
  • The invasion panel now sits exactly where your quest list is and always stays on screen.
  • World map: Alfheim Dungeon, Cave of Ymir 1, Cognito Dungeon, Nunlif Dungeon and Blue Echo now have map pictures. The close button moved to the top row.
  • The level-up plus disappears after you click it and comes back at your next level.

Fixes

  • Selecting a target no longer lowers your frame rate (most noticeable on Mac and Android).
  • Invasion monsters now spread out over the field instead of all appearing on one spot, and the Fabre Swarm takes place in the Pukui fields.
  • The Alfheim quest board stands on the ground at its new spot.
  • The skill point confirm box shows the skill icon again.
  • The Quest Log only shows a scroll bar when the text is longer than the box.
  • Yan's quest now asks for Thief Bug Egg Shells, the monsters you actually hunt.

Android

  • App 1.2.4: NPC dialogs go forward again, you stay connected after a few minutes in another app, and the frame rate holds while you have a target.

Start the launcher to get the update.

A new world map, wind in the grass and more

A big client update for Windows, Mac and Android, plus quest and monster fixes on the server.

New

  • A new world map: a painted map of our world. Click a region to see its maps as cards, then open the map you want. Return or Escape goes one step back.
  • Player menu: click the gold name plate of a selected player to trade, whisper, invite to party, add a friend or block.
  • Grass and bushes move in the wind on 25 maps.
  • Hover your EXP bars for the exact numbers. Settings > Game can show them as numbers instead of percentages.
  • Clearer element and EXP tooltips.
  • Unspent stat or skill points show a glowing plus above your HP bar. Click it to open Stats or Skills; hold Shift and drag to move it.
  • Quest items you have to pick up from the ground show a marker.
  • A new chat bar with a channel menu. The keyboard button keeps the chat open after you send a line (like Shift+Enter) and turns gold while on.

Quests and monsters

  • Hodemimes quests give much more base and job EXP.
  • Invasion monsters appear on ground you can reach.
  • A monster that cannot reach you walks back home and heals, instead of standing still while it is hit.

Fixes

  • Monster HP plates are no longer empty.
  • The corners of the skill bar take clicks again.
  • No more crash on Change Character.
  • Story voices play over the music.
  • Steam Deck: the right stick moves the camera again and Start opens the menu.

Start the launcher to get the update.

Invasions for everyone, softer falls

Invasions now reward every player who takes part, also when your level is above the event's range. You get that invasion's own reward, never more.

Invasion gear now leans towards your class: its bonus lines favour your class's main stats.

The invasion banner shows the medal you will really get at the end.

Falling hurts much less: fall damage is cut by 75%.

Mask of Pain can be traded, mailed and sold again.

Monsters can now hit with their full attack range, and the Birch Goblins in the Alfheim Dungeon walk around.

Story chapter 5: the Beacon Eater counts again when it chased you away from its spot.

No client update needed: this was a server update.

News3 November 2026

Quest hand-ins need the items in your bag

Some older quests paid their reward even when the quest items were in storage. Now the items must be in your bag when you hand in the quest, and they are taken as the quest says.

If you sold or traded a quest item, abandon the quest and take it again to get a new one.

Two quests that could be done twice for double rewards now work as intended.

News3 November 2026

Quest items stay with you

Quest items can no longer be traded, mailed or sold on the market. They are meant for your own quests.

Abandoning a quest and taking it again no longer gives its starting item a second time.

In the quest with the box and the Nunlif Soldier, clicking the box again no longer brings extra soldiers.

Patch2 November 2026

Overnight fixes: quests, shops, maps and getting stuck under the ground

Some quests were offered while you still had one of their part quests open, and then said "quest failed". They now wait until the part quest is done, and the message tells you what to do.

The Alfheim weapon merchant now sells weapons for levels 24 to 33 instead of beginner weapons.

Fell through the floor on a field? After 2 seconds under the ground the game now puts you back on your last spot.

Searching the market by rank shows results again, and deleting an item from the equipment window now gives a clear answer.

The world map (M) now has pictures for Prontera Culvert, Forest of Echoes and Blue Echo. Your head turns to what you click while riding a Peco Peco. The stun skills' tooltips explain that the target's VIT, LUK and level lower the chance. Switching between windows is safer.

Start the launcher to get the update.

News2 November 2026

Touch controls for Android

The Android app now has touch controls, so you can play without a controller.

Move with the stick on the left. The big button on the right attacks, talks or loots, and it picks the nearest monster for you. Your skills appear around it when you fight and hide again when you walk.

To put a skill on a button, open your skills window and the empty buttons appear. Tap a skill, then a button. Potions work the same way with your bag.

You can move every part of the screen, or turn parts off, in the HUD settings in the menu. Reset puts everything back.

Playing with a controller works as before: connect it and the touch buttons step aside.

Open the app to get the update.

News2 November 2026

Item links in chat and no more invasion freezes

Show your items in chat: hold Shift and click an item in your bag. Its name goes into your message, and everyone sees it as a link. Hover the name to see the item.

Party members now show reliably on the minimap and the world map, also when they are far away: they stay at the edge of the minimap, so you always know which way to go. Hover a member to see the name.

In voiced story scenes, each spoken line now appears in full right away, so the text no longer falls behind the voice.

The rows in the Wing of Wind and Old Maps travel windows are no longer grey.

Fixed: the game could freeze for good when you moved with a right-click while many monsters appeared at once, for example during an invasion.

Start the launcher to get the update.

News2 November 2026

The story scenes now have voices

All 49 story scenes are now voiced, from the Prologue with Loki and Baldur at the chess board to the last chapter.

The voices say exactly the words on screen, so you can still read along. Click on or skip, and the voice stops right away.

You can set the volume with the sound settings.

Start the launcher to get the update.

News2 November 2026

Auto loot, a bigger bag and safer story scenes

New switch: Auto loot (Settings > Game, off at first). When you open a monster or a quest object, everything is picked up at once. If your bag is full, the rest stays in the window.

New switch in the shop: Sell stack (off at first). Selling a stack sells all of it, without the amount box. Sold something by mistake? Buy it back on the Repurchase tab.

Your bag can grow: drag its corner to make it wider and taller, up to all 100 slots on one page. The game remembers your size.

The quest board now shows the Base EXP and Job EXP of a quest, in the same style as the quest log, with tidier spacing.

All button hints have the new look. In the HUD editor you can now pick items under the top bar, and Tab moves through all items.

While a story scene plays, monsters can no longer hurt you, and they stop chasing you.

Pukui now stomp once instead of twice.

The moon now fades out softly near the horizon.

Earlier today we also fixed quest objects (like the Fragment of Bridge) that could not be looted, and the missing picture in story scenes on Mac.

Start the launcher to get the update.

Client update2 November 2026

Mail, drops, skills and a client update

Today's update brings a big round of fixes on the server and a new client.

Mail

  • You can send mail even when your own inbox is full.
  • A character with unclaimed items or zeny in its mailbox can no longer be deleted, so nothing gets lost. Claim them first, then delete.
  • Mailing an item together with zeny now charges both fees correctly.

Drops

  • Rare items that dropped on every single kill now drop 90% of the time.
  • Monsters from level 40 up drop gear 1.5 times as often.
  • 82 monsters that dropped almost nothing now also drop a common potion or material.

Skills and invasions

  • Call Machine costs 15 SP, so a new Recruit can use it.
  • Focus Shot now has a 5 second wait.
  • Back Stab no longer fails when you stand right behind a monster.
  • Invasions have easier shared goals.

Quests

  • Two quests that asked for more items than they gave now take just one.
  • The last story chapter now completes.

Fixes everywhere

  • Party invites expire after 60 seconds.
  • Cancelling a trade closes the window for both players.
  • The friends list shows all 50 friends.
  • A stat reset potion works from any stack size.
  • Two players can no longer get more than the full EXP of one monster together.
  • Bound and unbound items no longer merge when you move them between your bag and storage.
  • To stop spam, you can send up to 6 chat lines every 5 seconds.
  • One broken look no longer hides all your other transmog looks.

New client

  • Move HUD parts with the arrow keys in the HUD editor (Shift moves 10 at a time). The Stone of Promise and show-players buttons now move with the mini map.
  • Bags and capes stay visible while you ride a Peco Peco.
  • The Jack Mask is a pumpkin mask for the head slot.
  • Hover the item you won in an invasion to see its stats.
  • The Albrasia quest board is back next to Migo.
  • A fix for a rare crash when closing windows with a controller.
  • The game has the RO2 wolf icon on Windows.

Start the launcher to get the update.

News2 November 2026

AegisRO2 now runs on Android

AegisRO2 now has an Android version. It is the same game on the same server, so your login and your characters work on every device.

You need an Android phone with 64-bit Android and Vulkan 1.3. We tested it on the Galaxy Z Fold. It is made for a controller.

To install it, open your personal status page on your phone and tap Download for Android. Your phone asks if your browser may install apps: allow it for this install.

After that it works like on Windows. Log in to the launcher, let it download the game and press PLAY.

This version is new. If something does not work, please send us a bug report.

News1 November 2026

AegisRO2 now runs on Mac

AegisRO2 now has its own Mac version. You no longer need CrossOver or Windows to play on a Mac.

It is the same game on the same server. Your login and your characters work on both.

You need an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or newer) with macOS 26 or newer. The game downloads about 3.9 GB and takes about 9.2 GB on your disk. Keep about 10.4 GB free while it installs.

To install it, download AegisRO2 for Mac from your personal status page and drag AegisRO2 into Applications. The first time, your Mac stops it. Click Done, open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway. You only have to do this once.

After that it works like on Windows. Log in to the launcher, let it download the game and press PLAY.

This version is new, so a few things are different:

Some trees are not drawn on a Mac yet.

If your left clicks feel stuck, close apps that change how your mouse or keyboard works, such as Magnet or Hyperkey.

If the game stops with a message about the graphics, start it again and please tell us.

A Mac update can come a little later than the Windows one. Until it is ready, the launcher shows "Mac update coming".

Patch1 November 2026

Mail works again, easier invasion rewards and many fixes

A second update went live tonight, with no download needed.

Mail is fixed. Before, only the first mail in your box could be read properly. Now you can open, claim and delete every mail. The Sent tab shows the right rows too. Nothing was lost: mails you could not open are still in your box. If you won an invasion reward by mail, it is there as well.

Invasion rewards are easier to win. You now need to be in the ring for at least a quarter of the time, not half. You still have to fight to get a reward.

Savage Baby no longer drops several items on every kill. Those drop rates were wrong in our data.

Timed potions and foods, such as Swift Potion, now renew when you drink a second one instead of stacking.

Bleeds and stuns now end when you die, so they no longer hit you again after you revive.

A party that shrinks to one player can still loot its own kills.

When an invasion ends, you no longer stay stuck in battle with no HP or SP coming back.

One account can no longer be in the world twice, and a character that is playing can no longer be deleted from a second screen.

We also made the server steadier. The server now saves everyone before a normal shutdown. Monsters can no longer get stuck standing at 0 HP when something goes wrong as they die. We fixed a rare fault that could make monsters drop their whole loot table, and some rare freezes.

News1 November 2026

Invasions with real rewards, 62 new quests and bigger quest stories

Invasions have arrived. Monsters now attack the field maps, and everyone nearby can fight them together for real rewards.

An invasion lasts 10 minutes and comes in waves. A ring on the ground and on your minimap shows where it is, and it has its own music. While you stand inside the ring, the invasion panel takes the place of your quest list. It shows the waves, the time left and a shared progress bar for everyone. When the bar is full, the invasion is won.

There are seven invasions: Fabre Swarm (level 2-10), Hornet Swarm (6-11), Andre Swarm (12-17), Piere Swarm (18-22), Skeleton Swarm and Orc Raid (26-34), and Alfheim Forest (49-61). Each map can get about four an hour while players are on it.

Your own points decide your medal: Bronze, Silver or Gold. At the end a banner shows your medal and what you won. You get EXP, job EXP, zeny and one piece of armour or an accessory for your job. Bronze gives a green item, Silver a blue one and Gold a purple one. The item's level follows the invasion, so it can be a little above your own level. If so, you can keep it until you can wear it. If your bag is full, the reward goes to your mailbox.

To win a reward you have to fight: deal damage yourself and stay in the ring for at least a quarter of the time. Rewards go up to five levels above the invasion's range, so Fabre Swarm pays up to level 15. Higher levels are welcome to help, but they get no reward.

Alfheim and Poro Island have 62 new quests. Look for the new quest board beside Migo Alfred in Alfheim town.

The Cognito quests that used to be empty are now real stories: 51 quests in 13 storylines. Prontera's side quests were reworked the same way. Small errands were merged into bigger quests, so there is less running back and forth and each quest tells more of its story. If you are in the middle of an old quest, you can finish it the old way.

Quests pay more EXP in Hodemimes, Prontera and Cognito. Hodemimes side quests now give at least 8% of a level.

Looting is quicker. When you open a corpse, the window also shows the loot of your other kills nearby, in one list.

We also fixed a lot of smaller things:

Waibi's Graffiti can now be taken.

Chat lines like "..." and "!!!" now reach other players.

Cancelling a cast no longer leaves a hidden wait, so a skill that looks ready really is ready.

Mail buttons now do what they say. Cancel takes back an unread mail and returns its item and zeny to you. Delete only removes it from your sent list, and the mail still arrives.

The block list now also stops whispers, however the name is written.

If the game refuses to let you throw away an item, your bag no longer stays locked.

We fixed a rare case where Bluish Green Bandits outside Hodemimes could freeze the whole server. A bandit killed by your first hit no longer calls its guards.

Monsters keep moving when one player walks away and another player is still close by.

Your friends now see the line when you log in.

If a trade offer is refused, the trade now ends for both players with a clear message.

System messages now also show in the Chat tab.

New installs of the game now start with the sound on.

We also corrected a few words in the English quest text.

Start the launcher to get the update. If it was already open, close it and open it again.

A new Create Character screen, skill tables and easier reading

The Create Character screen has a new look. Hair, colours, eyebrows and eyes are in one glass panel on the left. The race, your name and your weapon are in a panel on the right, with a gold Create button. The camera buttons sit between the two panels, so your character stays in full view.

Every skill tooltip now shows a table with all of its levels: damage, chances, SP and more, one row per level. Your own level is in gold, so you can see what the next level gives you.

The text in the Skills window and the Quest Log is bigger and easier to read. The windows stay the same size. The chat tabs, the line where you type and the words you type are bigger too.

Your LP now shows as small gems right next to your name.

Prices say Zeny everywhere, with commas: 1,234 Zeny. The "Sells for" price in tooltips is no longer cut off.

When an NPC gives you four to six choices, they now show two per row, so the text is no longer cramped. The Wing of Wind menu now says Warps, and the talk window steps aside while you pick where to go.

The warning for damaged gear now sits to the right of your HP and SP bar, away from your buffs. You can move it, and the minimap, in the HUD editor.

We also fixed a few things. Quest rewards no longer run off the bottom of the Quest Log. The breath bar no longer shows a black box behind its text. Monsters in caves and other indoor maps stand on the floor again right after a server restart.

Some quests were merged into one. If you had already done the old quest, the new one skipped its item reward. You now get the item.

Start the launcher to get the update.
